La Garza

La Garza was found with her siblings wandering in a field in rural south Texas after her mom was hit by a car. Thankfully, one of our wonderful fosters agreed to help, and we saved them! La Garza has done great in her foster home and has completed her veterinary care. She is ready to find her forever person! She is playful and enjoys following other dogs around when playing or going on adventures. La Garza may do well in a home with a dog-savvy cat after slow introductions; she will chase a cat if it runs away but respects cats that stand their ground. She is great with kids and has been with children as young as 5. She enjoys playing with plush toys and tends to carry squeaky toys around rather than making noise with them. La Garza is also a fan of edible chew bones and puzzle toys!

La Garza is doing well with house training and sleeps through the night with no issues. She is learning how to walk on a leash and is doing well with recall training.

La Garza weighs 28 pounds and is an estimated 5 months old, with an estimated birthday of 10/1/2025. Her mama was a Shepherd mix, but her daddy is unknown. La Garza is the smallest pup in her litter, and we think she will be a medium-sized dog as an adult.

La Garza is spayed, vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella. She is also microchipped, heartworm negative, and is current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

A home that can keep up with her playful spirit and offer slow introductions to any resident cats.
