Emma was born November 4, 2018, and weighs about 77 lbs. She's a beautiful girl with the sweetest face and lovely curls all over her back! Emma is a very friendly dog who does wonderfully with other dogs and cats. She came to us after her human mom passed away unexpectedly. Her human dad, working full-time, was unable to manage their four large dogs, especially in a city environment. Emma quickly discovered that more grass and less concrete is a great thing, and that swimming is a blast! She'll fly through the air to retrieve a toy in the water and will leap off the dock with pure abandon. Emma has been around visiting children and was fine with them.
Ideal Home
Emma is house-trained and does pretty well on leash, though she can be strong when excited. We're told that if she's off-leash, she should stay near you while you're doing chores outdoors. She grew up in a fenced yard with a wading pool. Emma has lived with another dog and would love a canine companion in her next home, but she could also be content as an only dog if her human is home often. If she does have a dog sibling, she should be fed separately as she sometimes shows food anxiety around other dogs.
Ongoing Health
Emma had an episode of heat stroke many years ago, which required extensive veterinary care to save her life. It's important to be mindful of this and prevent her from overexerting herself in the summer heat.

Emma is house-trained. She can be strong on leash when excited.
