Malouk

Meet Malouk, a 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a gentle soul and a loving heart. He came to us after his person passed away, and after a year of not receiving the care he deserved, he was surrendered to us so he could find a safe and loving home. Now, Malouk is ready to find his forever family!

This sweet senior is blind, but he navigates his world with incredible resilience. He still enjoys the simple pleasures in life like walks, naps, and treats (he really loves treats!). Occasionally, he even shows a playful spark. Malouk is friendly with people of all ages and has a soft spot for children, making him a gentle presence in a family.

Ideal Home

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key home where he feels safe and settled. He would be happy as an only pet, but he also does well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand he can startle easily due to his blindness.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is blind. He can experience some anxiety, and he does very well with calming medication and a consistent environment.

Training & Support

Malouk is potty trained, though he may mark indoors. Belly bands have been a simple and effective solution. He will need continued leash training, as he can pull, especially when he's excited or unsure. He finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while alone.

Transportation

Malouk is located in Texas, but can be adopted locally or out of state. We coordinate safe transport and offer video meet-and-greets to ensure it's the perfect fit.
