Hattie is a 1.5-year-old Anatolian Shepherd weighing 90-100lbs. She's a social butterfly who loves everyone and everything, stealing the show with her golden heart and gentle kisses. Hattie enjoys playtime and running around the yard with her canine friends, and she'd be happiest with a playful companion. She's an excellent alarm clock and is great in the car, though she can get excited sometimes. Hattie is a strong girl who is still learning and growing, and she truly cares about her people and friends, sticking by their side through daily adventures. She takes treats and medications gently and is eager to please.
Ideal Home
Hattie would thrive in a home with an experienced owner who understands the Anatolian Shepherd breed and its unique characteristics, such as their tendency to roam and bark. She needs a securely fenced yard, at least 6ft high, as she can clear fences and should not be left unsupervised outdoors. She is not suited for homes looking for a working livestock guardian. Due to her size and enthusiastic greetings, she may unintentionally knock down small children and her playfulness might be too much for cats. She also cannot live with same-sized females.
Ongoing Health
Hattie has no known medical issues. She is currently taking anti-anxiety medication, to which she has responded very well.
Training & Support
Hattie is not completely house-trained and will need continued work in this area. She is not crate-trained, as she can break out and becomes anxious in them. She also has some separation anxiety, which is significantly helped by her medication and canine companionship. She is a strong girl who requires an owner comfortable with managing her strength. She can clear fences and cannot be trusted off-leash, even for short periods.
