ATHENA
2 years old, 57 pounds. Athena is a sensitive Doberman girl with a gentle heart and a goofy side. She is a beautiful 2-year-old Doberman who is still learning that the world can be a safe place. Beneath her striking looks is a sweet, sensitive girl who needs a patient person willing to help her build confidence at her own pace.
In the home, Athena is affectionate, food motivated, and eager to connect with her people. Treats are absolutely the way to her heart, and she enjoys learning when kindness and encouragement are part of the process. She is crate trained and doing well with potty training overall, though she is still working through some marking behaviors in the house as she settles into routine and structure.
Athena enjoys other dogs, especially smaller dogs, and would happily try to make friends with every little dog she sees. Around larger, more confident dogs, she can be a bit reserved and unsure at first.
The outside world can feel overwhelming for Athena right now. On walks, loud environments and unfamiliar situations can make her nervous, and when she gets scared she may zig-zag or pancake herself to the ground while trying to process what's happening around her. Because of this, she needs a calm, patient adopter who understands shy or sensitive dogs and is willing to help her slowly gain confidence without pushing her too hard.
Athena is a soft-hearted girl who needs kindness, consistency, and someone who will celebrate the small victories with her. In the right home, she has all the potential to blossom into an incredibly loyal and loving companion.
