About Akira

Calling all experienced Jack Russell Terrier lovers!

Akira is a spirited 15 lb Jack Russell Terrier who is ready to bounce her way into the heart of the right person. True to her breed, she is incredibly smart, curious, energetic, and always looking for her next adventure. She loves exploring new places, car rides, toys, and dog puzzles. Thanks to her compact size, she's the perfect companion to take almost anywhere. Akira is also very affectionate and deeply bonded to her people. She loves cuddling, being close to her humans, and being part of everyday life. She is used to having people around and should not be left alone for long periods of time. Like many intelligent working breeds, Akira needs plenty of mental and physical stimulation. Without proper outlets for her energy and curiosity, she can become destructive with household objects. Please note that Jack Russell Terriers are not the right fit for every household, especially for first-time dog adopters. Akira is a textbook JRT — she comes with all the amazing qualities people love about the breed, along with the strong personality and quirks that require experienced handling, structure, and leadership. Akira has territorial instincts typical of the breed and does not do well with strangers entering her home, so slow, structured introductions are essential. Akira would thrive in an active, structured home with people familiar with Jack Russell Terriers. In return, she will reward her family with loyalty, cuteness, endless entertainment, cuddles, and adventure.

Ideal Home

Akira's ideal home is an adult-only, calm household with limited visitors and confident owners who can provide clear boundaries and guidance. She needs people familiar with Jack Russell Terriers. She should not be left alone for long periods of time.

Ongoing Health

Akira is spayed and up to date on all her shots.

Training & Support

Akira is potty trained and comfortable using potty pads or a doggy door. She is crate trained. She can be alpha and bossy when first meeting new dogs, so proper introductions and an experienced adopter who can confidently manage interactions are important. Without proper outlets for her energy and curiosity, she can become destructive with household objects.
