Hi there! My name is Butters, and I'm a three-year-old Terrier weighing about 40 pounds. I was rescued by TAP from a shelter in Mexico, and I couldn't be happier to have a second chance at life! I'm a healthy girl who has already been spayed. I do have a leg injury and am on Galliprant and Gapapentin (an anti-inflammatory and pain med for my leg) as I patiently wait for surgery, but I'm taking it all in stride. I absolutely adore people and love spending time with my humans. I'm an energetic and curious girl who's just starting to discover how much fun it is to play! Some of my favorite things include chewy treats, belly rubs, lots of pets, and relaxing outside in the fresh air. Loud noises aren't really my favorite, so I'd do best in a calm, peaceful environment. Because I prefer to have all the attention to myself, I'm looking for a home without other dogs or cats. I'd also do best with older, respectful children who understand that I'm still recovering and learning. I'm making great progress with my potty training and am already fully crate trained. Since I'm waiting for my leg surgery, I'm taking it easy and not going on many walks just yet. Once I'm all healed up, though, I can't wait to get out and enjoy more adventures with my new family. One of my best qualities is that I have no separation anxiety, so I'm perfectly content relaxing while you're away. I do have a playful habit of chewing on things if they're left within reach (flip-flops are a personal favorite!), so keeping your shoes and other treasures picked up will help set me up for success. I'm truly a sweet, loving girl who is just beginning to experience all the wonderful things life has to offer. If you're looking for a loyal companion who adores people and would thrive in a mellow or active home, I just might be your perfect match!
Ideal Home
A mellow or active home where she can be an only pet, with people who will spend time with her and take her for walks. Home without kids or with older kids/teenagers would be good. A calm, peaceful environment is preferred due to her dislike of loud noises.
Ongoing Health
She has a leg injury and is currently on Galliprant and Gapapentin for pain and inflammation while awaiting surgery.
Training & Support
Almost potty trained and fully crate trained. She is leash trained. She has a playful habit of chewing on things if left within reach, so keeping items picked up will help her succeed.
