Sweet, Resilient, and Ready for a Home
Tom is a handsome 3-year-old Bully mix weighing about 45 lbs with a striking black and white coat. He was saved from the euthanasia list at a busy Houston shelter and has spent the last two years patiently waiting for his forever family. Despite his long journey, Tom has remained incredibly sweet, affectionate, and always in good spirits. He's a calm and respectful boy in his kennel, never destructive, but in the play yard, his silly side truly shines with joyful zoomies and boundless enthusiasm. Tom adores people, greets everyone warmly, and is wonderful with children. He's a well-rounded boy who is crate trained, potty trained, and comfortable with handling, grooming, and vet visits. Tom enjoys the company of other dogs but is also happy to be independent, making him a versatile companion for various home environments.
Ideal Home
Tom would thrive in a home with a yard where he can stretch his legs and play. Given his energetic bursts of joy during playtime, homes with children 10 years and older are recommended to ensure the best fit for everyone.
Ongoing Health
Tom is healthy and low-maintenance, but he is heartworm positive and currently receiving treatment.
Training & Support
Tom is crate trained and comfortable with handling and vet care. He is looking for an experienced adopter who can provide consistent leash training and a confident handler to offer structure. While he doesn't know many commands yet and can be a bit stubborn, his sweet nature makes him a joy to work with.
