Wonton Wonderful the Professional Snuggle Bug

Wonton Wonderful honestly feels like the dog version of a warm blanket and a lazy Sunday morning. This little guy has the sweetest soft energy about him and the type of face that immediately makes you want to scoop him up and protect him from literally everything LOL. Between the tiny corgi legs, the sleepy puppy dog eyes, and the way he quietly follows around the people he loves most, Wonton has this incredibly comforting little presence that sneaks up on your heart really fast. Hes not loud, demanding, or over-the-top. Hes just a sweet cuddly little homebody that wants cozy naps, soft blankets, sunshine, and his favorite person nearby.

Wonton Wonderful is believed to be a Corgi/Chihuahua mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs about 20 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, its always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. What we do know is that this little guy has absolutely mastered the art of being a professional cuddle companion.

Wonton is definitely more of a slow burn with new people and in new environments and will need a little time to settle in before his personality fully comes out. His foster shared that it took him a couple of days to really feel comfortable in the home and around the people there, but now? Total lap dog. Once Wonton decides youre his person, the rest is history. He becomes incredibly affectionate, wants to cuddle constantly, and has this really sweet loyal way of loving people that feels very genuine. His foster says one of her favorite things about him is the way he gets SO excited when she comes home and is immediately ready for cuddles. Hell jump up on the couch, get into cuddle position, fully melt into affection mode, and will look up at her like he is saying, you coming? Im ready for cuddles. Its honestly ridiculously sweet.

Wonton does fine with the other people in the home too, but he definitely picks his favorite human and gravitates toward them the most. When his foster leaves and other people are still around, hell calmly go lay in his favorite spot in the house and patiently wait for her to come back home. He truly feels like the perfect dog for someone looking for that deep loyal companionship bond with a dog that absolutely cherishes their person.

With other dogs, Wonton has been very easygoing and aloof overall. Hes dog friendly, respectful, and coexists beautifully with the dogs in his foster home, but his foster says he really has no interest in playing with them. Hes much more of a Ill be over here minding my business and taking my nap type of guy. Because of that, a super high-energy playful dog probably would not be the ideal fit for him. Wonton would likely do best either as a solo dog soaking up all the love and attention or in a calmer multi-dog household with respectful lower-energy dogs that dont pressure him into interaction. Think peaceful companionship rather than built-in wrestling buddy.

He also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. Wonton did not chase Biggie, nor was he bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also seemed to feel comfortable around him as well. We do not know if he has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing him with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for Wonton to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know!

Wonton is crate trained, potty trained, and overall has really lovely house manners. Hes lower energy overall and honestly seems perfectly content sleeping most of the day, sunbathing outside, lounging on the couch, or quietly hanging out nearby while you go about your day. He would likely do great either in an apartment or in a home with a backyard. His foster shared that he enjoys laying outside in the sunshine and would make the perfect little companion while gardening, reading on the patio, or drinking your morning coffee outside. Hes just one of those dogs that makes ordinary quiet moments feel extra cozy At the end of the day, Wonton really isnt asking for much. He just wants patience, kindness, a comfy place to nap, and someone willing to let him open up at his own pace. And once he does? Youll have a tiny little best friend that loves you with his whole entire heart.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dogs growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+.
