About Loki

Loki is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mother and siblings and has grown up loved and cared for in a foster home. Loki is the brave, bold, and entertaining leader of his litter, always curious and ready for adventure. He's an expert climber and loves to play keep-away with his toys. Loki is potty trained, though occasional accidents may happen as he adjusts to a new home. While fearless, he can be a little hesitant with new experiences, but warms up quickly. He loves food and will happily snuggle up for cuddles after a day of play. Loki is social with people and other dogs and has been well-greeted by children. He has experience with crates for short periods.

Ideal Home

Loki would thrive in a home that can provide ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice. We prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor him. If you don't currently have another dog, please outline your plan for continued socialization, such as structured training classes, supervised daycare, or regular playdates. Because Loki is still young, we also prefer homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time. He has not yet been tested with cats.

Ongoing Health

Loki is a healthy young dog.

Training & Support

Loki is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Continued socialization is important for building his confidence. Consistency, positive reinforcement, and continued leash practice will help him thrive.
