Meet Toby, a 6-month-old, 26-pound Carolina Corgi mix with a heart as big as his adorable ears. Toby’s story began with heartbreak; abandoned at a high-kill shelter at just 4 months old, he was scared and alone. Thankfully, a loving foster stepped in, and with the guidance of his foster sisters, Toby has slowly come out of his shell. He now happily goes outside on leash, enjoys playing, and loves a good sunbath. Toby is shy when meeting new people and needs time to decompress, but once he feels safe, he blossoms into a loyal, calm, and sweet companion who is non-confrontational and has wonderful manners around other animals. He enjoys hanging out by bookshelves, under desks, or close to his foster sisters. Toby lives with six dogs and one cat and gets along beautifully with them all, thriving in the company of other pets. He is a smart and quick learner, making progress every day. While he is fine around children, we feel Toby would do best in a quieter home without young kids, as a calm environment will help him relax and continue gaining confidence. For the family willing to give him patience, kindness, and time, Toby will reward you with unwavering loyalty and a special bond.
Ideal Home
Toby thrives in a home with at least one happy, confident, playful dog to provide reassurance and confidence. He would do best in a quieter home without young children. Yards MUST be adequately and fully fenced; electric or underground fences are not accepted.
Ongoing Health
Toby is fully vaccinated with 3 rounds of shots, neutered, and heartworm negative. He is kept on heartworm and flea preventatives.
Training & Support
Toby is currently puppy pad trained and is making excellent progress. He closely observes the other dogs in his foster home and is eager to follow their lead when they go outside. We believe that with a patient family and a confident dog companion, transitioning to outdoor potty training will be easy for him.
