Raya (MD)

Raya is a charming 4-year-old terrier mix, weighing in at 9.5 lbs., who came to us as a stray with a mysterious past. Despite her rough beginnings, she's blossomed into a resilient and joyful companion. Raya recently underwent double knee surgery and is now happily navigating stairs and even dancing for her breakfast! While she may have a slight limp in her right rear leg, it doesn't slow her down one bit. She's also house-trained and a treat-motivated girl who's eager to please.

Ideal Home

Raya would thrive in a quiet home where she can be the sole focus of your attention. Due to past experiences, she would do best in a home without children or other dogs, as she can exhibit resource-guarding behaviors with her crate. She has shown no interest in cats.

Ongoing Health

Raya has fully recovered from her spay surgery and a benign mass removal. She underwent successful double knee surgery in November 2025 and is healing well, though she may retain a slight lameness in her right rear leg.

Training & Support

Raya is reliably house-trained when kept on a schedule. She can be a bit barky when encountering people or dogs on walks, but her treat motivation makes her easily redirectable. She would benefit from continued positive reinforcement to help her feel secure and confident.
