Meet Malouk! This distinguished 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd possesses a gentle soul and a heart full of love to give. He came to us after a profound loss and, regrettably, wasn't receiving the care he deserved for a year. Now, Malouk is ready to embark on a new chapter, seeking a safe, loving environment where he can be cherished.

Despite being blind, Malouk navigates his world with remarkable resilience. He still finds joy in the simple pleasures of life: leisurely walks, peaceful naps, and an abundance of treats (his absolute favorite!). Occasionally, a playful spark ignites his spirit, reminding us of his zest for life. Malouk is incredibly friendly and has a soft spot for children, making him a gentle and reassuring presence for the right family. He also gets along well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand his need for gentle introductions.

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key environment where he can feel secure and settled. He would be perfectly happy as the sole recipient of your affection, but he also coexists peacefully with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand his sensory needs.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is blind, which can sometimes lead to anxiety. He manages very well with calming medication and thrives in a predictable routine.

Training & Support

Malouk is potty trained. While he may occasionally mark indoors (he was recently neutered), belly bands have proven to be an effective and simple solution. He will also benefit from continued leash training as he can sometimes pull, especially when excited or uncertain. He finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while alone.
