Meet Jake, a handsome one-year-old, 45-pound chocolate brindle boy who's navigating his teenage years with curiosity, athleticism, and a whole lot of personality. Jake came to us a bit reserved, needing time to adjust to new people, places, and situations. He's not scared, but rather thoughtful, taking a moment to assess his surroundings before diving in. He's looking for a patient adopter who will earn his trust by meeting him at his own pace.
Once Jake feels comfortable, his true, delightful personality shines through! He's a natural athlete who loves to play and explore. He tackles scent puzzles with the focus of a detective and approaches ball time with his own unique style – he prefers catching with his paws, which is absolutely endearing! Jake is also incredibly affectionate, showering his favorite people with kisses, though they can sometimes be a bit enthusiastic, more of a playful nip than a gentle peck. He's still learning the ropes of appropriate greetings. When he's truly happy and relaxed, a little bit of his tongue will poke out from the left side of his mouth, a charming quirk that's sure to bring a smile to your face. Jake has all the makings of a devoted companion; he just needs a consistent, structured environment to help him blossom.
