Summer Smiles The Sunshine Girl

Summer Smiles is a delightful 4-year-old German Shepherd mix, weighing in at a petite 45 lbs. She's a true social butterfly, radiating a friendly and goofy personality that's sure to brighten your day. Summer is incredibly dog-friendly and has a knack for making friends with pups of all temperaments. She also showed great respect towards a cat during introductions and would likely do well in a home with feline companions, especially with a brief "cat sleepover" to ensure a perfect fit.

Ideal Home

Summer would thrive in a home with a backyard for zoomies and sunbathing, but she's also adaptable to apartment living. She loves being around people and would be a fantastic companion for someone who enjoys hosting or simply wants a happy, go-with-the-flow girl by their side. She's also wonderful with children and has a special bond with a 7-year-old she met.

Ongoing Health

Summer has all her vetting done, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable. She also had a heartworm test and treatment if needed.

Training & Support

Summer is a treat-motivated learner who already knows how to sit on command. She walks well on a leash and is crate and potty trained. Her handlers at the rescue work with dogs on behavior modification as needed and create individualized plans to help prepare them for their forever homes.

Transporation

Summer is located in Texas. Wags facilitates nationwide adoptions using a USDA-certified transport system, with drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada. A $87 surcharge applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
