Nala

Nala is a 2-year-old, 47-pound, spayed female Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd mix. She was surrendered because her family was moving and couldn't take her with them. Nala is a very nervous girl who doesn't like the loud noises at the shelter. She came from a home with four other dogs, but they were kept in separate parts of the house. Nala lived with a male dog in the upstairs part of the home and was never allowed outside to play or use the bathroom, so we assume she is not used to toileting outdoors. While she was very scared at the shelter, Nala is friendly and playful when out of her kennel. She is current on her vaccinations and tested negative for heartworm. She is also microchipped, but the chip is unregistered.

Ideal Home

Nala would thrive in a quieter environment where she can feel safe and secure. She is still a bit nervous, so a patient and understanding home is a must.

Ongoing Health

Nala is up-to-date on her Bordetella, DAPPV, and Rabies vaccinations as of March, April, and May respectively. She also tested negative for heartworm in May.

Training & Support

Since Nala may not be accustomed to outdoor toileting, consistency and positive reinforcement will be key to helping her learn. She is described as a nervous girl who doesn't like loud noises, so a calm home environment will be beneficial.
