About Moose

Moose is a handsome 3-year-old Terrier mix with a striking red merle coat that makes him look like a work of art! This 62lb boy came to us as a stray on March 6th, 2026, after being originally adopted from our shelter last September. Sadly, his previous owner rehomed him due to landlord issues, and it's believed he was then abandoned near Woolmarket Elementary School. It's heartbreaking to think someone would leave such a wonderful dog, but Moose is now safe with us and dreaming of his truly forever home. Could it be with you? Moose is a bit of an independent spirit, but he does get along with other dogs (we recommend proper introductions for dogs 6 months and older). He absolutely loves meeting new people and sometimes forgets his size, thinking he's a lap dog! He's also great with older children, aged 10 and up, and is a pleasure to walk on leash.

Ideal Home

Moose would love a family who appreciates his independent nature while also enjoying his affectionate side. He's good with older kids (10+) and enjoys the company of other dogs with proper introductions. A fenced yard is not required.

Ongoing Health

Moose is up-to-date on his vaccinations and microchipped.

Training & Support

Moose is great on a leash and eager to please. While he can be a bit of a "lap dog" sometimes due to his size, he's a joy to have around.
