About Complicated Carley

Complicated Carly was quite fearful when she arrived many months ago, scared of the world. She's made incredible progress and is now ready to find her forever family! Over the summer, she's become much more comfortable in various situations. She even completed a basic household obedience class.

Carly is generally good with other dogs, though she can play a bit too boisterously for very small dogs. She's also good with cats. Initially, she would bark and huff at new people entering the home, but now she offers just a couple of barks before cautiously approaching. She walks wonderfully on a leash.

Carly forms deep bonds with her people. While she once found a way out of her yard (the fence has since been repaired) and her only goal was to find her person, her strong prey drive means she might not be trustworthy if she were to chase a squirrel.

She enjoys her chew bones and is gentle with stuffed toys, not destroying them. She'll fetch for a short time and seems like she'd enjoy playing in the water if she saw other dogs doing so. Carly is very athletic, and while she can be rambunctious, she settles down nicely and is an A+ snuggler – truly a gentle soul. All she needs now is continued training and her own loving family.

Ideal Home

Carly would thrive in a home where she can continue to build confidence. She might be too enthusiastic for very small dogs.

Ongoing Health

Carly is a healthy girl who has come a long way.

Training & Support

Carly has completed basic obedience and walks well on a leash. She can be rambunctious but settles well. Continued training and a patient family will help her flourish. Her prey drive is something to be aware of, especially if she were to get loose.
