Bullseye is a sweet and thoughtful 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix, weighing around 40 pounds. He's expected to be a large dog when fully grown, following in his mom Wanda's footsteps, who weighs about 55 pounds. Rescued from the streets of Houston with his litter, Bullseye has grown up in a loving foster home and is now ready to find his forever family. He's the calm observer of his litter, often taking things in before joining the fun. Bullseye enjoys cuddles, belly rubs, and playtime, but also appreciates quiet time snuggling with his favorite people. He's a loyal companion with a gentle spirit and an easygoing nature, making him a perfect match for someone seeking a devoted friend.
Ideal Home
Bullseye would thrive in a home where someone is committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him continue to mature. We prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor him, but we are open to hearing your plan for continued socialization if you don't have another dog. Homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are also preferred, as Bullseye will benefit from regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, training, and human interaction.
Ongoing Health
Bullseye is a young adolescent and is still learning about the world. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive.
Training & Support
Bullseye is potty trained, though a few accidents may occur as he adjusts to a new routine. He has experience in a crate and is gaining confidence with leash walking and basic obedience. Continued socialization and structured training classes, supervised daycare, or regular playdates with trusted dogs will help him succeed.
