About Carrie

Meet Carrie, an 11-week-old female Black Lab Mix who is ready to find her forever home! Carrie and her littermates were surrendered to a rescue in Arkansas. We were happy to welcome these adorable pups into our rescue. Their dad looks like a Black Lab, and their mom looks like a Lab mix, with the puppies inheriting their cute white markings from mom. Carrie is named after Sally Field's character in "Smokey and the Bandit," and she truly embodies that feisty spirit! Though she's the smallest of her litter, she definitely lets everyone know she's the boss, but she's also incredibly cute and cuddly, making it impossible not to fall in love with her.

Ideal Home

Carrie is a typical puppy who loves to chew, explore, and sometimes gets into small spaces, so she will need close supervision or crating when you can't keep an eye on her. She's working on housebreaking, which means frequent trips outside are a must! She also has a knack for finding small openings, so secure fencing is important to keep her safely in the yard.

Ongoing Health

Carrie is currently being treated for worms, and her adopters will need to continue to monitor her health and pick up after her to help prevent re-infestation. She should be finished with her treatment or very close to it by the time she's placed in her new home. She is very tolerant of handling, including ear, teeth, and paw checks.

Training & Support

Housebreaking is a work in progress and will require patience and consistency. Carrie sleeps through the night in a crate with her brother, Bandit, and is quiet and settled. She may need a little extra encouragement initially if crated without him, but she will adjust to having her own space. She's used to being crated for 1-2 hours at a time for naps.
