Meet Penny, a bright-eyed 2-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix who weighs in at 62 pounds and has a heart full of love to give! Penny is a fun-loving, affectionate, and outgoing girl who thrives in an active environment with her people by her side. She's curious, social, and always ready for her next adventure or a good cuddle. Penny is eager to bond deeply with her forever family and will be an incredibly rewarding and joyful companion.
Ideal Home
Penny would do best in a home with older teens or adults who understand dog behavior and can help channel her energy positively. She needs a cat-free home due to some prey-driven behavior observed outdoors. She currently lives with other dogs and enjoys the company of playful, medium-to-large canine friends who are confident and can set healthy boundaries, as she can be a bit strong during play with smaller or more timid dogs. A home that provides structure, patience, and understanding, and doesn't expect perfection right away, will be ideal for Penny to blossom.
Ongoing Health
Penny is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Penny is fully house-trained and is learning to be more comfortable with separation. While she hasn't been crate trained yet, she prefers to be close to her people and may whine or bark when separated. She can be trusted loose in the house if items are put away, though she has a tendency to chew on dog beds when bored. She is still learning dog social etiquette and needs guidance. Penny can be protective of her space and high-value items around other dogs, requiring separation at meal times and when receiving treats. These are manageable behaviors that respond well to clear boundaries and respectful management. She flinches easily and needs reassurance and calm, consistent care.
