Lucky

Lucky is a sweet, fun-loving Dachshund over 2 years old who is ready to join her forever family! She was born and raised as part of a family, not from a rescue, and has been a cherished member of their dachshund family. Lucky is microchipped, crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained, and is up-to-date on all her vaccinations and has had regular vet check-ups. She was a wonderful mom to her puppies, and while her mobility is perfect, a recent evaluation revealed a slight bowing in her back right leg and some narrowing of the disk spacing between L5-L6 in her spine. X-rays indicate that the right tibial bone may be slightly shorter than the left, but this is not currently affecting her movement or causing any discomfort. The reduced adoption fee reflects the possibility of future medical needs, though none are anticipated at this time.

Ideal Home

We are looking for a loving family who will provide Lucky with an active life appropriate for all dachshunds and who will focus on her joy and well-being rather than potential future issues. Ownership of any pet comes with significant responsibility, including financial responsibility, so applicants with very tight finances are kindly asked not to apply.

Ongoing Health

Lucky has a mild stage of MLP with her right leg and radiographic evidence of narrowing disk space between L5-L6. She has no current mobility issues or pain associated with these findings, and her overall physical assessment was normal. X-rays suggest a potential for future mobility issues due to these findings, but this is not definitive. She has received all necessary vaccinations and deworming and has had regular vet check-ups.

Lucky is microchipped, crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained. We require a phone interview before approving her adoption.
