Meet Annie!
Annie is a spirited almost five-year-old German Shepherd with a beautiful sable coat. She's around 55 pounds and embodies the classic German Shepherd spirit with her intelligence, loyalty, and love for the outdoors. Annie is bright, curious, and enjoys exploring the world around her, whether it's a walk in the woods or a playful romp in the yard. She thrives on connection and activity, adjusting easily to daily routines and loving to be part of her caregiver's life.
Ideal Home
Annie truly comes alive outdoors and would be happiest in a home with wide-open spaces, fresh air, and room to run and explore. A securely fenced yard or a rural setting would be ideal. She needs a single-pet, child-free environment with minimal visiting animals. Annie is not compatible with other dogs or cats, as she can become overwhelmed and may react negatively, especially if another animal enters her space.
Ongoing Health
Annie has a diagnosed Ventricular Premature Contraction (VPC), a heart condition that makes anesthesia unsafe. Due to this, she has not been spayed. She also has a past seizure history, though she has not had any recent episodes. Her new family will need to be prepared to support her special care needs and monitor her condition.
Training & Support
Annie is wonderfully smart and has completed formal obedience training, reliably responding to commands like sit, stay, and down. She is crate trained and often uses her crate as a cozy retreat. Annie would benefit from an experienced German Shepherd pet parent who understands her need for structure, positive reinforcement, and thoughtful guidance. She needs a confident caregiver who can provide consistent boundaries, recognize her signals, and support her with ongoing training and behavior guidance.
