Ferris is a handsome boy, about 50lbs and full grown. He's roughly 80% Malinois with a medium-length coat. Ferris was found abandoned with his siblings and has since matured into a smart and focused companion. He's a medium-energy dog, perfect for families who enjoy outdoor activities and mentally stimulating games. Ferris is food-motivated and easily trained, and he loves playing chase with other socialized dogs. He's a bit of a "talker" when playing, and his Shepherd heritage means he has a prey drive, so a cat-free home is a must. He's best friends with Cartier, another foster dog, but would also do well as an only dog. Ferris is crate trained and happy to spend time outside with his family. He doesn't have extremely high endurance, which is a plus for many homes, but he still needs a job to do, like agility or scent training, which could be a fun family activity. He adores children and people who give him attention, and he takes treats gently.
Ideal Home
Ferris would thrive in a home where he receives regular socialization with people. He's a loyal family dog who needs a job to do, so daily mentally stimulating tasks are important. He is agile and a climber, and due to his breed, a chain-link fence will not work for him.
Ongoing Health
Ferris is up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and will be microchipped and 4DX tested prior to adoption. He is on heartworm, flea, and tick medication. His adoption fee includes his neuter at West Lorne Animal Hospital after adoption. He has no food allergies and is fed twice daily.
Training & Support
Ferris is easily trained and smart. He needs continued obedience classes to maintain socialization and keep his mind active. His prey drive will need to be managed.
