Comet

Comet is a charming 3-year-old, neutered male Hound/Retriever mix weighing in at 56 pounds. He's a resilient and adaptable pup who was rescued from the streets and saved from the county shelter in San Antonio. Comet has blossomed in his foster home and is now a friendly, playful companion who loves to zoom around! He has a balanced playstyle and has shown no resource aggression.

Ideal Home

Comet would be happiest in a home with a canine sibling to snuggle and play with, as he currently lives with a female dog and they get along wonderfully. He has also done well with indoor cats and children. Due to his slight herding instinct, a home with children aged 10 years or older, or those who can understand and respect animal behavior cues, is recommended.

Ongoing Health

Comet is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health concerns.

Training & Support

This smart pup is fully house, crate, and leash trained! He sleeps through the night in his crate without whining and doesn't pull on the leash. Comet hasn't had any accidents in the house since coming to foster and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He doesn't seem to have separation anxiety, but he does enjoy tasting things when unsupervised, so he's crated when left alone. Comet can be a bit wary of men initially, but with patience and consistency, he warms up quickly, especially since he adores his foster dad. He is eager to please and easy to train with positive reinforcement.
