Duque is a handsome 4-year-old English Shepherd mix with a striking black and white coat and about 42 lbs of pure charm. He's already mastered potty training and leash manners, making him a breeze to have around. Duque is a friendly soul who settles in quickly and loves to shower his people with affection. He's happiest when he's active and enjoying the great outdoors with his family. Duque is a well-balanced boy looking for a home where he can receive plenty of love, companionship, and those all-important daily walks.
Ideal Home
Duque would thrive in an active household with a family who enjoys outdoor activities. A fenced backyard is a must for him. He needs a family with a genuine commitment to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs of rescued animals. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly desirable, or a commitment to hiring a professional trainer is essential for this intelligent dog. A high level of patience and tolerance for rescued animals is also a key requirement. Please note that Duque is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Duque has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed/neutered, receiving DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella, and deworming. He is microchipped and has tested negative for heartworm. He receives monthly preventative protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm with Nexgard Spectra. A health certificate and vaccine booklet are provided.
Training & Support
Duque is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared to dedicate time and effort to this aspect of his care. He is described as an intelligent dog, and training will be key to his success in a new home. Patience and understanding are crucial, as rescued dogs may need time to adjust and build trust.

Transportation
Duque is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. We offer door-to-door delivery for your new pet. Our transport company, based in Montana, organizes scheduled trips 3-4 times a year, with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. Pets are accompanied by all necessary legal and health documents. For US adoptions, pets are transported across the border into Texas. For Canadian adoptions, pets are delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. Real-time updates are provided via a private Facebook Messenger group. A transport fee of $400 USD covers the cost from Mexico to your home.
