About Loki

Meet Loki! This 3-year-old Terrier mix, weighing around 11 pounds, is a handsome fellow with a charming wire-haired coat and a heart full of loyalty. Loki is ready to be your devoted best friend! He's a calm and well-mannered pup who enjoys the simple pleasures in life, like car rides with a view and staying close to his favorite people. He gets along wonderfully with dogs, children, men, and women.

Loki can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, needing a little time to feel secure and build trust. But once he warms up, his sweet personality truly shines, and his tail starts wagging with joy! He absolutely adores affection and enjoys gentle petting and being held.

Loki's journey began in Saltillo, Mexico, where he was found wandering near a school. Concerned for his safety, community members ensured he was taken in. Though a kind woman gave him a bath at a veterinary clinic, she never returned for him. He remained at the clinic until our rescue program could step in, providing him with the care and attention he deserved. Now healthy and safe, Loki is eagerly awaiting his chance to find a patient and loving forever family.

Ideal Home

We're looking for a patient adopter who will give Loki the time he needs to feel secure and enjoy having a devoted companion by their side. A home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities would be ideal. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, are highly encouraged. Loki needs a family with an open conscience about the needs of rescued street animals and their need for protection and education.

Ongoing Health

Loki has received a comprehensive health protocol, including:

  • Spay/Neuter Certificate
  • 2 DHPPI Vaccine shots
  • Rabies Vaccine
  • Bordetella Vaccine
  • Deworming
  • Microchip
  • 4DX Test and Certificate
  • Heartworm test Negative Certificate
  • Monthly Preventive Protection with Nexgard Spectra (fleas, ticks, and heartworm)
  • Health Certificate
  • Vaccines booklet

Please note that rescue dogs may not be potty trained.

Training & Support

Loki is not house-trained and will need continued patience and consistency in this area. He can be a bit nervous and cautious with new people, so he'll benefit from an adopter who understands the importance of a gradual introduction and positive reinforcement. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly recommended, or a commitment to hiring a professional trainer.
