Artie is a fun-loving, high-energy 3-year-old Terrier mix who is always ready for her next adventure! Weighing around 32 pounds, she's a bundle of joy and enthusiasm. Artie absolutely adores people and greets everyone with a wagging tail and pure excitement. She's incredibly smart, playful, and affectionate, and her silly antics are sure to bring laughter to your home every day. After a good play session, she loves to cuddle up and be your loyal companion.
Ideal Home
Artie thrives in an active environment and would do best with a family that enjoys walks, playtime, and outdoor activities. A yard or open space to run would be a huge bonus! While she doesn't need another dog, she would likely enjoy a playful canine companion, and has done well with large dogs (50-100 lbs) in her foster home, though slow introductions are important. She can be a little on edge initially and is protective of her toys but backs off quickly and never escalates. She also recognizes when another dog is done playing. She has not been around cats and hasn't spent time with children yet, but her friendly personality suggests she could do well with proper introductions.
Ongoing Health
Artie is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Artie is house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping in her crate at night and during the day for 4-6 hours. She may whine a bit initially but settles down. It's recommended she continue to be crated when left alone, as she is curious and can get into things on counters if unsupervised. On leash, she may bark or pull when she sees other dogs, so continued training will help her polish those manners. She also needs continued training to learn how to settle calmly and share toys more comfortably. Artie eats separately from other pets currently, though she has shown no food guarding toward people and typically backs off if another dog has something she wants.
