Smokey is a 2-year-old, 53-pound male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray. He's fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and ready to find his forever family! Smokey is a super sweet boy that just wants love and attention! He's very smart and a quick learner. He's very submissive and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He's described as kind-hearted and affectionate, a total couch potato who's more than happy to hang out and relax with you all day! Smokey would thrive in a low-traffic home due to his shyness with new people. If you’re looking for a dog who enjoys a good snuggle and quiet time, Smokey is your guy! He's a loyal, sweet companion who just wants to be part of a family.
Ideal Home
Smokey would prefer a home without cats. He would thrive in a home that offers love, patience, and a cozy place to rest. He would do well in a home with a doggie companion as he loves playing with other dogs. He would also love a home with someone who works from home or is only away from the home for a few hours a day. A house is preferred over an apartment due to some separation anxiety.

Training & Support
Smokey is fully potty trained and is sure to only do his business outside. He walks great on a leash! He can be a little nervous around strangers and might bark out of excitement, but is easily redirected. He does get excited in the beginning and will pull just slightly, but he settles in and walks calmly by your side once the excitement wears off. Smokey is not a huge fan of the crate. He will go into the crate to rest, but he prefers to not be shut in the crate. Smokey does have some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave. He doesn't tear anything up and he does stop crying.

Transporation
Smokey is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible for virtual meet & greets.
