Parker is a quiet, gentle, and easygoing boy who takes his time settling into moments. He has a soft presence and a calm, respectful nature, bringing a peaceful energy that can make a home feel more grounded. Parker is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 21 lbs. He appears to be a Portuguese Podengo, but as with all rescues, his breed and age are our best guess.
Ideal Home
Parker truly shines in a home with other dogs. He's currently fostered with multiple dogs and has been wonderfully comfortable from the start, greeting them politely and then going about his business. He would thrive in a multi-dog household where he can take cues from confident, friendly dogs. He would benefit from a patient, understanding home that gives him space to decompress and adjust at his own pace. He could do well in a house with a yard or an apartment, as long as it's a calmer, lower-traffic environment, especially during his initial adjustment.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions were mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Parker is house-trained and sleeps through the night. He is shy with people at first and takes affection slowly, not out of resistance, but because it's unfamiliar. He allows handling without issue and shows no signs of aggression, just a gentle hesitation with new touch. He doesn't currently seek out affection but is open to learning. On leash, he is building confidence; new environments can feel overwhelming, but he handles walks without fuss. With gentle guidance and continued exposure, he will continue to improve.
