Rusty

Rusty is a spunky 4-5-year-old neutered male Black Mouth Cur Shepherd mix who is ready to bring his playful spirit to your home! Weighing in at a sturdy 50lbs, Rusty is a compact and active guy who loves a good game of keep away or chase. He's up-to-date on all his shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped, so he's all set to join your family. Rusty is friendly with medium and large breed dogs, both male and female, and would be happy as an only dog or with a canine companion. His experience with cats is unknown.

Ideal Home

Rusty would thrive in an active home that includes him in daily family activities and adventures. He needs a securely fenced yard, as he is not off-leash trained and would not be a good fit for an apartment. He can live with a couple, a single person, or a family with children older than 10 years, as his exuberance might overwhelm younger children.

Ongoing Health

Rusty is up-to-date on all vaccinations, is heartworm negative, and has been microchipped.

Training & Support

Rusty knows his basic commands and is motivated by food and treats. While he had some potty accidents in the shelter, he has been perfect in his foster home, is fully potty trained, and crate trained.

Transporation

Rusty is currently in a foster home in Ft. Worth, TX. Transport to your area is available through our rescue after adoption is finalized. If you prefer to arrange your own transport, the adoption fee remains the same.
