Meet Mack!
Mack is a large, gorgeous boy who transforms into the biggest cuddle bug with his trusted people. He loves giving big hugs and will happily try to sit on your lap, often forgetting he's outgrown his puppy size and still thinks he's as small as a chihuahua! Despite his size, Mack is intelligent and well-mannered, respecting fence boundaries. He's content with as little as 4-foot fencing and doesn't require a massive yard, provided he gets his daily walks or can enjoy an occasional swim – he absolutely loves water!
Mack's tough exterior belies a soft and timid personality, which may be why he's been overlooked. Adopted as a puppy and returned as a teenager with minimal socialization, he was initially terrified of new people and other dogs. While these behaviors weren't his fault, his previous adopters weren't equipped to handle them. Thankfully, Mack has blossomed at the shelter and is now incredibly dog-social, getting along with almost all types of dogs. He would thrive in a home with another dog or two to help him continue building confidence and see that the world isn't as scary as he once thought.
Mack has a generally mellow demeanor, but he's still active enough to keep up with most lifestyles. He walks beautifully on a leash, knows 'Sit,' and takes treats gently. With his intelligence and eagerness to please, Mack is a fast learner and would likely master any trick you teach him! While he's dearly loved by our staff for his goofy, puppy-like personality, it's time for Mack to find the lasting comfort of a loving home. Could you be the perfect match for this handsome fellow?
