Poppy is a sweet, gentle pup who has been through a lot in her short life. She was adopted from us as a puppy almost 2 years ago, but was recently found wandering the streets, unwanted by the family who originally adopted her. Despite this hurt, Poppy has a big heart and is looking for a family that can truly give her the forever she deserves. Poppy can be quite shy at first, but can be silly and occasionally rambunctious once she warms up. Poppy is about 2.5 years old, weighs 44lbs, and is believed to be an Australian Shepherd/Beagle/Border Collie mix.
Ideal Home
Poppy is the type of dog who wants to hang out with you on the couch and play in her own backyard. She is not especially adventurous and prefers to stay in her own domain. Due to her anxiety, she does not enjoy walking on a leash, but loves to play outside in her own space, so a fenced-in backyard or other safe setup with land is a must for Poppy. Poppy loves to play with other dogs and would do best in a home with a friendly companion that will play with her and help her confidence. She also does wonderfully with cats after an introduction. While she has not interacted with children since her return to rescue, Poppy is incredibly gentle and is expected to do well; though she can be nervous, she is never reactive and would enjoy gentle companionship.
Ongoing Health
Poppy is fully vetted: spayed, UTD on vaccines, negative for HW, and microchipped.
