Leon

Leon is a handsome 1-year-old male Labrador mix, weighing around 30 lbs. He was rescued in March 2024 and is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. Leon is described as loving, intelligent, obedient, and playful. He's energetic and sociable with people, children, and other dogs, enjoying playtime, walks, and affection. While a bit shy initially with new faces, he quickly warms up and loves to cuddle. He's also known to be docile, loyal, joyful, and funny. Leon is crate and leash trained. He was found with his siblings in a field shortly after birth.

Ideal Home

We are looking for homeowners with a fenced backyard who are active and enjoy outdoor activities. Families with an open mind about the needs of rescued animals, experience in dog behavior and training, and high tolerance and patience for rescued pups will be a great fit. Please note that Leon is not house-trained.

Leon has completed a thorough health protocol, including:

• Spay/Neuter Certificate
• 2 shots of DHPPI Vaccine
• Rabies Vaccine
• Bordetella Vaccine
• Dewormed
• Microchipped
• 4DX Test and Certificate
• Heartworm test Negative Certificate
• Monthly Preventive Protection Nexgard Spectra (fleas, ticks, and heartworm)
• Health Certificate
• Vaccines booklet

Training & Support

Leon is crate and leash trained. He is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this. Success with Leon will come from understanding that rescued animals often need extra patience and education as they learn new behaviors.

• Following application review, a phone/email interview will be scheduled.
• A home check (virtual or in-person) will be conducted.
• A virtual meet and greet will be arranged.
• A trial adoption period will be provided.

Transporation

Leon is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is available for transport to the East Coast of the United States, with delivery to the adopter's home address. The transport fee is $400.00 and is the responsibility of the adopter, payable prior to the pet's departure.
