Tahoe Trailblazer is a handsome, adventurous 1.5-year-old, 57lb shepherd mix who is happiest when he's part of the action. He's intelligent, social, and loves people, making him the perfect "let's go do stuff" companion. Tahoe has a stunning coat and an athletic presence that will surely turn heads. He's already house-trained and crate-trained, and his foster family describes him as affectionate, playful, and eager to please. Ideal Home

Tahoe would thrive in an active home where he can be involved in daily activities. He needs a feline-free home, as his interest in cats is too high to ensure their safety. He would also do best with medium to large dogs (over 25 lbs), particularly confident females or those who appreciate playful energy without being overwhelmed.

Ongoing Health

Tahoe is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP vaccines with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, and receives a monthly injectable heartworm preventative. He has been heartworm tested and treated if needed.

Training & Support

Tahoe is a very workable dog who responds well to guidance and corrections. He's intelligent and eager to learn, so continued training will be beneficial and enjoyable for him. He already responds well to leash corrections and checks back in with his handlers. Consistency and structure will help him continue to thrive.

Tahoe is currently fostered in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system. This system ensures safe and comfortable travel with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (with pick-up options in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track your pet's journey in real-time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
