About Mia

Mia is a soft, cuddly, and affectionate girl who loves her beauty naps and being near her people. She also enjoys entertaining herself with small plush toys. Mia came to us as an owner surrender and has truly blossomed into a different dog with the help of her foster mom, who has worked hard to build her confidence, resilience, and impulse control. Mia is kennel trained, house trained, and walks nicely on a loose leash. She uses a Ruffland kennel to ensure she stays safe and secure when unsupervised and has learned to settle quickly inside it.

Ideal Home

Mia genuinely loves people but can be startled by fast or unpredictable movements. She would do best in a home with older children who understand boundaries and canine body language. She also lives well with respectful dogs when given slow, thoughtful introductions after a proper decompression period. Mia is fairly independent and enjoys her alone time.

Ongoing Health

No specific ongoing health conditions are mentioned in the listing.

Training & Support

Mia can be a bit of a negotiator at bedtime when it comes to her kennel, but she settles quickly. She has learned to remain neutral and comfortable around young children from a respectful distance. Mia gives clear warnings, like growling, when uncomfortable, which is a positive trait that allows handlers to intervene before situations become stressful. She can exhibit leash reactivity when another dog suddenly appears barking or lunging behind a fence, but she recovers quickly. An experienced large-dog owner who understands management, advocacy, and continued confidence building would be ideal. Mia thrives with two short walks per day and about 30–45 minutes of exercise.
