Meet Jussie! I'm a 9-year-old black and tan Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail, and I'm pure joy wrapped in a Doberman-shaped package. My foster family says I greet every day like it's the best one ever, and honestly, they might be right! I have an endless supply of enthusiasm for life, especially when it comes to playing and eating. My signature move is a gentle nibble on your hand to ask for pets, and I love to play hard. My foster brother and I have full wrestling matches every morning, which I consider essential! Mealtime is a spiritual experience for me; I do a full spin-around dance while my bowl is being prepared. I eat extremely fast, so I use a slow feeder bowl, and my new home will want to continue that. Kokie is my ride-or-die best girl, and we're a bonded pair – we go together, non-negotiable! We lost our owner, the person who had us for years, and we came into rescue together because that's the only way we go. Kokie is my anchor, and I am her entertainment. We have been side by side for over six years and we are not starting over without each other. Kokie is calm and cuddly, while I'm bouncy and playful, and we balance each other out perfectly.
Ideal Home
We are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. I am active and playful and need a home that can match some of my energy. While I'm more independent than Kokie, I'm still very people-oriented and love being around my humans. Cats are an unknown quantity for both Kokie and me, so slow introductions would be the smart move.
Ongoing Health
I am spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. I am heartworm negative and have tested negative for intestinal parasites.
Training & Support
I know "sit" with a little coaxing and treats. I stop immediately when told "no." I'm still working on leash manners and tug quite a bit, so a patient, experienced handler is preferred. I am very food-motivated, so please use that to your advantage for training and continue using a slow feeder bowl at meals.
