Meet Captain!

Captain crashes into life at full speed with a toy in his mouth and his whole heart wide open. He’s almost 2 years old, and this boy does everything with intensity: he loves hard, plays hard, and feels hard. Right now, shelter life is hard on him. Toys are Captain’s happy place; throw one and you’ll see the real him instantly – joy explodes out of this dog with zoomies, spins, and pure happiness. It’s impossible not to smile watching him! But Captain isn’t just a fun dog; he’s a deeply loyal dog, the kind that bonds hard to his people and wants to be part of your world. He really just needs consistency, patience, and a family willing to let him settle in and trust. Captain has been doing great with men lately and continues to show everyone just how much progress he’s making. He does have a little separation anxiety because, honestly, Captain loves being with his people. He’ll need a strong crate and a home committed to helping him feel secure. Captain isn’t looking for "someone someday;" he’s looking for his family – the people who will throw the toy one more time, laugh at the chaos, and finally give this big-hearted boy a place to land.

Ideal Home

Captain would do best in an active home that understands high-energy dogs. He needs people who want a dog fully invested in loving them and can provide a strong crate for downtime. He would prefer a home without small children or cats.

Ongoing Health

Captain experiences some separation anxiety due to his strong bond with people.

Training & Support

Captain will need a home committed to helping him feel secure and working through his separation anxiety. A strong crate is recommended.
