Alder

Alder is a handsome 3-year-old Great Pyrenees who came to us from Texas, where the stray dog population is overwhelming. He's one of the lucky ones who made it out and is on his way to finding a loving, forever home. Alder is a shy but friendly gentleman. He wants to show his excitement but isn't quite sure how. He likely wasn't given much affection or attention, but he definitely craves it and will surely master the Pyr paw in no time.

Ideal Home

Alder would do best in a home with a calmer, playful dog. He is pretty mild-mannered, so a home with children beyond the screeching years would likely be fine. A fenced yard would be ideal, but he does walk well on a leash, so a home without one is acceptable as long as you are committed to daily walks. He is protective of his food, so he will need to be fed separately from other dogs.

Alder doesn't really know how to play with other dogs yet but seems interested. He is a bit protective of his food.
