About Gus

Meet Gus, a big, lovable goofball with a heart that doesn’t come in small portions! Born around April 1, 2024, Gus and his brother Frank came to us after facing difficult circumstances on the streets and in multiple shelters. Now, Gus is making the most of his second chance and is eagerly searching for a forever home that can match his incredible capacity for love and fun.

Gus is the perfect blend of cuddle bug and enthusiastic playmate. He absolutely adores spending time outdoors, whether it's romping in the yard or exploring new scents on long walks. Once he's tired out, he's more than happy to snuggle up on the couch and shower you with affectionate kisses. He's a social butterfly who thrives on being around people and gets along well with other large dogs. Gus wants to be involved in everything, from playtime to quiet evenings. He also has a fondness for toys, though "durable" is the key word, as he plays with gusto!

Ideal Home

Gus would thrive in a home with adults or older, experienced handlers who can provide gentle guidance and help him continue to learn his boundaries. A home with a yard or a commitment to regular walks and ample activity would be ideal to keep him balanced and happy.

Ongoing Health

Gus is a healthy young pup!

Training & Support

Gus is already crate trained, house trained, and knows the command "sit," which gives him a wonderful foundation. Like many enthusiastic young dogs, he's still refining his manners. He can sometimes get overly excited, leading to jumping or nipping during high-energy moments. He also has a tendency to "snack" from tables if given the opportunity, so consistent structure and ongoing training are important for his continued development.
