Velvet

Velvet is a sweet and silly girl with a heart of gold. She's a total lap baby who loves to snuggle and shower her people with affection. Her playful spirit shines through when she's chasing after a toy, even if her coordination isn't always perfect. Velvet loves easily and we know she'll blossom even more in a loving home.

Velvet will be spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped before going to her new home.

Training & Support

Velvet is not yet house-trained and will need guidance and patience as she learns. Introductions to any resident dogs should be slow, cautious, and appropriate, with plenty of time for decompression.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• All household members, especially those under 18 and any decision-makers, should be present to meet dogs.
• We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s).

Transportation

Velvet is located at Chicago Animal Care and Control at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals until 7pm.
