Smokey is a 2-year-old male Cane Corso/Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray. He weighs 53 pounds and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Smokey is a super sweet boy who just wants love and attention! He's very smart, a quick learner, and incredibly submissive – he doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Smokey is described as "kind-hearted" and "affectionate," and he's ready to find his forever family! He's a total couch potato who's more than happy to hang out and relax with you all day, providing gentle companionship.
Ideal Home
Smokey would thrive in a low-traffic home due to his shyness with new people. He would prefer a home without cats. He would do really well in a home with a doggie companion as he loves playing with other dogs and enjoys a good game of chase. Smokey would love a home with someone who works from home or is only away from the home for a few hours a day. He would do best in a house rather than an apartment due to some separation anxiety.

Training & Support
Smokey is fully potty trained and is sure to only do his business outside. He walks great on a leash and, while he might bark out of excitement when meeting new people, he is easily redirected. He does get excited at the beginning of a walk and will pull slightly, but he settles in and walks calmly by your side once the excitement wears off. Smokey is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut in it, though he will go in to rest. He does have some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave, but he doesn't tear anything up and eventually stops crying.
