About Raya
Meet Raya!
Raya's story is one of resilience and unwavering loyalty. She was found by a volunteer by the side of a busy highway, heartbroken and refusing to leave her sibling who had been tragically struck by a car. Thankfully, she was brought to safety and has since blossomed into a happy and spirited young girl. Raya is playful, goofy, athletic, and incredibly funny. Her joyful "zoomies" involve delightful hops like a little deer, guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
She thrives on adventure, whether it's walks, car rides, or hikes. Raya is eager to join in on any outing and would likely walk for miles if given the chance! A securely fenced yard is essential for her to safely enjoy her adventures. After a day of exploring, Raya's favorite activity is being as close to her people as possible. She loves to snuggle on laps, curl up on the couch, and might even claim a bit of your bed. She's looking for a family that wants a dog to be a true member of the household, and we're excited to find that for her.
Raya appreciates slow and positive introductions to new people and other dogs. While she can be incredibly affectionate and loyal once she trusts someone, she needs a little time to warm up. For this reason, she might do best as an only dog, especially for adopters who can't easily facilitate an in-person meeting with resident pets. She has shown she can get along with other dogs after proper introductions, but we want to ensure this process is handled with care. Cats, however, tend to be a bit too stimulating for Raya, so a cat-free home is a must.
Raya forms deep bonds and loves with her whole heart. She doesn't do well with extended periods of alone time. Her foster uses a sturdy crate when needed to help with some separation anxiety and to prevent any puppy mischief. If your household is typically empty for 8-10 hours a day with limited time together, Raya may not be the best fit.
This brave girl has overcome heartbreak and learned to trust again. She is now ready to share her immense love with a family of her own.
Ideal Home
Raya would love a home with a securely fenced yard for her adventures. She thrives on companionship and doesn't do well with long periods of alone time. A cat-free home is also a must.
Ongoing Health
All of our dogs are vetted by a licensed veterinarian, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Raya benefits from a crate when left alone to help with separation anxiety. She needs slow, positive introductions to new people and other dogs.
