Meet Millie!

Millie is a 2-year-old Pug/Boston Terrier mix, weighing around 21 pounds, who is learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. Watching her confidence grow is truly special. She came from a puppy mill and is still a bit skittish around new people and situations, preferring to build trust at her own pace. Sudden movements can startle her. However, with a no-pressure approach, Millie has made incredible progress! She's discovered the joy of toys, loves to zoom around when happy, and enjoys gentle pets from those she trusts. Once comfortable, her adorable personality shines through. She spins in circles when excited and greets her people with a unique bark-howl that sounds like a conversation.

Ideal Home

Millie would thrive in a quieter home without young children, though older, calm, and respectful kids who understand her need for patience might be a good fit. A securely fenced yard is a must, as she can be a flight risk. She needs someone patient who will let her progress at her own pace in a calm, predictable environment with lots of understanding.

Ongoing Health

Millie is mostly house-trained when kept on a consistent schedule, but she doesn't always signal when she needs to go outside. She is not crate-trained or leash-trained and may experience separation anxiety, so her new family will need to be committed to helping her build confidence.

Training & Support

Millie would do best with another confident and friendly dog in the home, as she takes comfort from canine companions and has learned from them. She also gets along well with cats. Her new family will need to help her continue building confidence.
