Kai is a handsome and adorable six-year-old Bichon Frise boy who's dreaming of a family to call his very own, forever. His life hasn't always been easy; he was adopted during the pandemic and later spent long days in a crate. Despite his past, Kai's love for people remains strong. He adores being with his humans, enjoying couch snuggles and bedtime cuddles, and is convinced he's a lap dog at 19 pounds. He loves playing with his toys and makes little growly noises when he's having fun, which his foster family likens to purring because he smiles the whole time. Kai has lovely manners at home; he is housetrained, crate trained, and knows "sit" and "come." Belly rubs are a favorite, and he'll often roll onto his back to politely request more. He enjoys playing with a small female pup in his foster home and may bark at other dogs initially but is fine once he knows they want to be friends. He doesn't require a canine sibling but would enjoy one for playtime. A fenced yard would be ideal, but he'd also do well with a family who enjoys long walks, like his daily two-mile stroll. Kai's one quirk is that he likes to stay put when settled, which helps him feel secure. His foster family uses gentle redirection, which works well. He's looking for someone to help him move past his past and give him the security and unconditional love he deserves, someone patient and loving who will pamper him and promise to love him forever.
