Alder is a handsome 3-year-old Pyrenean Shepherd mix who came to us from Texas, where the stray dog population is overwhelming. Thankfully, he is one of the lucky ones who made it out and is on his way to finding a loving, forever home. Alder is a shy but friendly gentleman who craves affection and attention. He seems interested in playing with other dogs but is unsure, and we think a home with a calmer, playful dog would be beneficial. Once he has had time to decompress, we believe his true personality will shine!
Alder is a bit protective of his food, so he will need to be fed separately from other dogs. He doesn't seem to mind cats and would likely do well in a home with children who are past the "screeching years." A fenced yard is ideal, but Alder walks well on a leash, so a home without one is acceptable as long as you're committed to daily walks. Do not expect him to stay close to home if you let him wander in the backyard.
