Meet Laurel! She's a spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped female Collie and Chihuahua mix who is 2 years old and weighs about 20 pounds. Laurel is a survivor, rescued from a hoarding situation and nursed back to health after battling pneumonia and distemper. Though she has a constant head tremor from her distemper, it doesn't slow her down or cause her pain, and she doesn't require medication for it at this time. Laurel is a homebody who is bravely learning to navigate the world and is gaining confidence daily. She's great with other dogs, cats, kids, and all humans, though she can be a bit nervous around unfamiliar men and large crowds, and sometimes barks from the car at strangers. Laurel is a pee pad pro and is working on her outside potty training. She expresses her excitement with enthusiastic jumps and is now comfortable spending up to 5 hours alone. She loves to snuggle and has claimed a cat bed as her throne. Laurel is looking for a calm, loving home where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace.
