Coraline

Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs and is estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She's a delightful blend of curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining, with a quirky charm that will keep you smiling. Coraline's favorite game is peek-a-boo, and she expresses her playful spirit in gentle and funny ways. She's deeply people-oriented and loves to be near her humans, quietly observing the day's activities. Coraline is an easy companion, not overly clingy but shows affection with sweet puppy kisses or a gentle paw. She has a calm and balanced temperament, perfect for a work-from-home buddy, and is happy entertaining herself with toys. Coraline is social with people and other dogs, greeting them calmly before continuing her play or exploration. She's the best of both worlds: playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, goofy yet intuitive – your perfect sidekick and best friend.

Ideal Home

Coraline would thrive in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation, from leisurely walks and hikes to cozy evenings on the couch. She loves being included in her family's daily routine and would be happy with short walks and backyard play, or joining longer hikes and beach trips. She needs a family that understands she's still gaining confidence in busy public areas and will provide more exposure and socialization as she grows. A home with a fenced yard is essential for her to play and sunbathe. No apartments or condos due to potential noise sensitivity. She thrives with another dog and would do well with older children and potentially cats. She needs her human home more often than not, though a few days of doggy daycare would be fine.

Ongoing Health

Coraline is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has received a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and any necessary veterinary care while in rescue.

Training & Support

Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained, and sleeps in her kennel at night with no fuss, though she enjoys sleeping in bed with her foster mom. She uses doggy stairs to get on and off the bed. She's treat-motivated and learning leash manners, needing additional practice to boost her confidence on walks. She alerts when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can use a doggy door. A consistent potty schedule of every 3-4 hours is recommended initially, and a doggy doorbell can help with communication if a doggy door isn't available.

Transportation

Coraline is currently in a foster home in Central Texas. She can be adopted and transported to specific cities/states; please see www.wags.com/transport-locations for details. Adoptive families will need to meet the transport to pick up their new family member. Meet-and-greets prior to transport are not available due to extensive transport distances.
