Sweet Boone is a 2-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, weighing approximately 18 pounds. He has the kindest face and the softest, most soulful eyes. Boone came to us after being rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where he had very little human interaction. Despite his past, Boone has remained incredibly gentle, sweet, and eager to experience the love he has always deserved. He is learning to trust that the world can be a safe place and is making steady progress every day. He is a quiet, thoughtful little guy who observes before jumping into new experiences. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet personality shines through, and he seeks out affection and relaxes around his people.
Ideal Home
Boone would do best in a calm, patient home that will continue his socialization and help him build confidence at his own pace. A quieter home may be the best fit, and a friendly, confident resident dog could help show him that people and new experiences aren't so scary.

Training & Support
Boone is learning to walk on a leash and continues to gain confidence with gentle encouragement. He does well in his crate, where he feels safe and secure. Positive reinforcement, predictable routines, and compassionate guidance will help him continue to thrive.

Transporation
Boone is currently located in Austin, Texas. Transport can be arranged by our rescue once matched with an approved adopter. Transport runs every few weeks and he will be on the next available transport once approved.
