Ziggy

Ziggy is a 16 lb, 2-year-old Dachshund with a big personality packed into a small body! He was rescued from a local high-kill shelter and is now ready to find his forever home. Ziggy is a happy-go-lucky pup who loves dogs of all sizes and enjoys having canine companions. He’s great with people, and while he hasn’t met kids or cats yet, his calm and easygoing nature suggests he’d adjust well with proper introductions. Ziggy is a "velcro dog" who just wants to be wherever you are, making him a loyal and affectionate companion.

Ideal Home

Ziggy loves having other dogs around and would likely do well in a home with canine companions. While he hasn't been around children or cats, his calm demeanor suggests he could adapt with proper introductions.

Ongoing Health

Ziggy tested positive for heartworms but has successfully completed treatment and is doing wonderfully. Continued heartworm prevention and routine testing will be important to keep him healthy.

Training & Support

This smart boy is both house trained and kennel trained. Ziggy does have a playful side and has a bit of a soft spot for shoes, so keeping them out of reach will be a must! Providing plenty of toys will help keep him entertained and out of mischief.

Transportation

Ziggy is being fostered in La Feria, TX. He can be transported to an approved adopter out of state, and his adoption fee of $550 includes transport costs.
